WELCOME / BIENVENIDOS

Para español vea abajo, gracias.

The “Planning Stage: Afro-Latino Arts Education Season” has as its goal to collect diverse opinions about what we would like to see implemented in an arts education program related to the African diáspora in Latin America. The “Planning Stage” will run through the end of 2013. It will include four community forums in different parts of the city of Seattle, surveys and interviews with members of the community.

DE CAJóN Project is the organization leading this project along with other five artistic organizations from our community: Grupo Bayano, ICAF SEATTLE/ international capoeira angola foundation, Hagucha Garinagu, Todo Folklore Cubano, and the Seattle Fandango Project.

This is an effort by and for our community. Your contribution, be it ideas or volunteering time, will help us plan an arts education season slated for fall 2014 at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute.
